Tian Jiu Therapy

Tian Jiu therapy involves applying a small amount of Chinese herbal medicine paste to specific body acupuncture points on specific days of the year. The herbal medicine stimulation regulate the balance of energy in the body through meridians system, activate the body’s immune function and achieve the therapeutic effects of treating diseases, warming the lungs, resolving phlegm, invigorating the spleen, and tonifying the kidneys.

Tian Jiu Therapy

“The three dog days” refer to the hottest days of the year in summer when Yang energy is at its strongest. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that applying Tian Jiu therapy during this period can best stimulate the body’s internal Yang energy with the greatest efficacy.

The three dog days in 2023 are as follows:

1st dog days: 11/07/2023–20/07/2023 (lasting 10 days)

2nd dog days: 21/07/2023–09/08/2023 (lasting 20 days)

3rd dog days: 10/08/2023–19/08/2023 (lasting 10 days)

Tian Jiu Therapy

Tian Jiu therapy was initially used to treat asthma caused by lung deficiency and coldness, and clinical observations have shown that it also has good therapeutic effects on Allergic rhinitis which is usually associate with energy deficiency in the lung system. It is particularly suitable for people with sensitive trachea and those who is easy to catch a cold or have upper respiratory tract infection.

After more than three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, many patients are still suffering from “long COVID” symptoms. Many COVID-19 symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, and persistent cough are related to lung Qi deficiency. Tian Jiu therapy may also help improve these symptoms and accelerate the recovery of patients.

Oriental Health is offering Tian Jiu Therapy in 2023, aiming to safely and effectively stimulate the body’s internal Yang energy and regulate lung function. Participants will select one day in each of the three dog days periods to undergo acupuncture point moxibustion therapy. Before the first application, the Chinese medicine practitioner will first understand the participant’s constitution and then determine the acupuncture points and application time. It is recommended to apply the therapy every ten days.
