Yin and Yang

Chinese Medicine is based on the philosophy of Daoism (Taoism) where Nature originates from one ultimate substance which then generates two opposite but interdependent forces, Yin and Yang.

Everything in Nature has a balanced level of Yin and Yang. In order to maintain a balance, sometimes Yin is stronger and sometimes Yang is the stronger force.

Yin & Yang in Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine suggests that there is a balance state of Yin and Yang in every human body. When Yin and Yang are in their natural balance, a person is healthy.

Therefore the fundamental objective of Chinese Medicine must be to restore and maintain the natural balance of the human body, else the person starts to feel uncomfortable and might eventually get a disease.
